The Northern Toque Ornament is the first design in my Canadian Heritage Ornament Series, a collection celebrating the familiar symbols, traditions, and little things that make this country feel like home.

Inspired by the classic Canadian winter toque, this charming little ornament features heritage-inspired stripes, a red maple leaf, and a fluffy pom-pom. It doesn't get much more Canadian than that!

Best of all, it's a lovely, approachable project that requires just two basic hand sewing stitches — the whipstitch and blanket stitch. Whether you're newer to hand sewing or simply looking for a relaxing little project, the Northern Toque is a wonderful way to spend a little time at the worktable.

The downloadable PDF pattern includes detailed written instructions accompanied by colour photographs to guide you through construction. SVG cutting files are also included for makers who prefer to use a compatible cutting machine.

Skill Level
