Dicken's Village Book Shoppe

Materials List, Details & Where to Find Supplies

Two Sheets Printable Fabri Solvy

I retail this here, but if you live in the USA I cannot ship due to tariffs.

USA based crafters can shop directly with Sulky America here

Five Sheets 0.030" or 30pt chipboard

Chipboard is used to create the building structure. I retail it here in bundles of 12 sheets.

Due to tariffs, this item doesn't ship to the USA, but you can purchase it off of Amazon here, there are several options for pack size.

Graphite Paper (optonal)

This is completely optional - If you would prefer to trace the pattern directly onto the cardboard, the graphite paper enables you to do this.

You can also just cut out the pattern pieces and trace around them onto the cardboard and transfer markings in a conventional manner.

If you are interested in graphite paper, you can purchase it here for Canada, and here for the USA and I'm sure in other countries you can find it as well!

Acetate Sheet (for windows) 7 mil recommended

Acetate is used for creating the window panes. If you are located in Canada you can purchase it here, if you are in the USA you can purchase it here, or find an equivalent source in your country.

I like the 7 mil thickness.

Wool Blend or Pure Wool Felt

I retail premium quality wool-blend felt, you may consider working with a curated colour bundle, or create your own!

The quantities and colours you will need if you use the same colour scheme as I did are listed below and also available as a Book Shoppe Felt bundle:

Shady Grove 12x18" sheet

Hay Bale 12x18" sheet

Bronze 9x12"

Victorian Rose 9x12"

DMC Embroidery floss

DMC Embroidery Floss is widely available online, and in craft stores. Your colours will vary depending on what felt colour scheme you work with.

If you are following along with the same colours as I did, the DMC Floss colours are listed below and also available as a DMC Floss Bundle:

DMC 902

DMC 935

DMC 831

DMC 3052

DMC 3046

Diamant 3852 Metallic Floss

Sequins

For the Book Shoppe, you just need a single 4mm flat sequin for the door knob in root beer. You can purchase these here, however if you live in the USA I cannot ship these to you due to tariffs.

USA based crafters can check out this source here.

11/0 Seed Beads

You need a single 11/0 size seed bead for the door knob (I use dark topaz here), and you'll want one or two more shades for the beadwork on the building.

If you are following along with my colour scheme, I use 11/0 seed beads in clover, you can get them here.

If you live in the USA I cannot ship due to tariffs so my USA based crafters can get them here.

Five LED Light Strand

You can build your own, or purchase pre-wired light assemblies here.

I cannot ship the lights to the USA at this time, however for my USA based crafters, here is the link to my detailed shopping list and video tutorial on how to make your own.

Electrical Tape

Any generic electrical tape will work here, you can purchase it online or at your local hardware store.

Artificial Snow (optional)

I have luck finding this every year at the local dollar store once it hits November and the Christmas decor is out.

A little artificial snow can help hide any mistakes you may have made along the way on the building, and just adds another wintery element to the shoppe!

To find something out of season, I recommend just doing a google search on artificial snow, or just use craft stuffing.

Wool Stuffing (chimney smoke)

I like using sheep wool stuffing for the chimney smoke, you could use any sort of stuffing material, cotton balls, or something similar to act as the smoke.

Embroidery and Craft Supplies

In addition to the supplies listed, you will need basic tools such as:

a craft knife

carboard/paper scissors

felt/fabric scissors

craft glue

glue gun

embroidery and beading needles

toothpicks for applying glue in small areas
